Rock legend Ted Nugent recently described President Obama as a, “subhuman mongrel.” The Wang Dang Sweet Poontang singer recently joined Texas Attorney General Greg Abbot on his gubernatorial campaign trail. Abbot is looking to succeed Governor Rick Perry and currently has a near 10 point lead over his Democratic opponent Wendy Davis.

Now a group of Texas lawmakers have asked in a letter that Greg Abbot apologize for inviting Nugent on the campaign trail, drop Nugent from his campaign, and to denounce his offensive comments.

Abbot has sidestepped Nugent’s remarks saying, “I can’t read everything.”

Rick Perry sat down with CNN’s Wolf Blitzer and when  Ted Nugent’s comments about President Obama came up, Perry responded by saying, “The idea that Ted Nugent has said something that’s outrageous shouldn’t surprise anybody. He’s been saying outrageous things for a lot of years.”
