Would You Eat This Birthday Cake?

Yummy.

CAKE

Vicky Knoop is quite the creative type. Based out of San Francisco, the artist decided that she wanted to do something extra special for her boyfriend on his birthday…and extra special, it was.

In case you don’t recognize it, the cake she designed is based on the character Split Face, from John Carpenter’s 1982 cult classic film, “The Thing.” She did such a good job on it that it almost looks too vile to eat. But thankfully, Vicky’s boyfriend loved the gesture, and the cake turned out to be a hit with most of their party guests…with the exception of one friend who felt slightly queasy. After posting the pictures online, Knoop even received a note from John Carpenter’s wife, telling her how much the director loved her creation.

For the curious, she used Rice Crispy treats as a base, along with painted fondant on top, to create the horrifying treat:

You can see the entire process unfold from scratch at Vicky’s blog. Hungry yet?
