  • Amazon Enlists Gary Busey to Help Sell its New Set-Top Box

Don't we all just need a little more Busey in our lives?

In case you haven’t heard, Amazon.com has just released a new product to compete with streaming video devices like Apple TV and Roku. It’s called Amazon Fire TV, and given the rather crowded market at the moment, they’ve got quite the uphill climb. Amazon Fire TV is very much like the products that inspired it, save for a new voice-activated function and an optional gaming controller. So, what can it to do stand out in this busy field?

Have Gary Busey hawk it, of course!

And sell it, he does, in one of the most bizarre commercials in recent memory. You can hardly take your eyes off of it. Heck, I already own an Apple TV AND a Roku, and Busey is actually making me consider picking up one of these as well. I’m pretty sure the only way Amazon could have made a better ad would have been to invite Meatloaf along:

Which crazy celeb do you want to see in the next Amazon commercial? Dennis Rodman? Charlie Sheen? Mel Gibson? My vote is for Phil Spector, direct from his jail cell. Talk it out in the comments section…
