CNN Host Don Lemon: “Al Sharpton Is Not My Leader”

CNN host Don Lemon made an appearance on Laura Ingram’s radio show yesterday and poked fun at the idea that Al Sharpton is a racial gatekeeper for black Americans. “I missed you last time,” Lemon said, “I think you wanted me on last week but I couldn’t because I had to go to an Al Sharpton meeting to make sure I could talk to you.”

“Many people think African-Americans are monolithic and they speak with one voice and there is one leader. And, you know, yeah, there are a lot of people who follow Al Sharpton. I have nothing against Al Sharpton, I have no beef with him, but I do not agree with everything that comes out of Al Sharpton’s mouth, and Al Sharpton is not my leader,” Lemon said.
