  • Media Freak Out That Selfie-Gate May Have Cost Them a Chance at Their Own Selfie With Obama

    Say it ain't so

After seeing these reports on the David Ortiz “product placement selfie” with Obama and how those types of photos may be banned by this White House as a result, all I can think about is how awful this must be for the reporters featured above. Savannah Guthrie, George Stephanopoulos, Gayle King, Matt Lauer…I mean, these folks probably lie awake in bed every night, dreaming about their moment in the sun with Lord Barry. To think that it may never happen has got to be earth-shattering for them.

This was all in reaction to White House adviser Dan Pfeiffer proclaiming over the weekend that “maybe this will be the end of all selfies.” Indeed, that’s a quote for the ages–one for the history books. He might just as well have called this “a selfie that will live in infamy,” or stated that “the only thing we have to fear is…no more selfies.” Perhaps he should have suggested that all Americans strive to achieve that “shining selfie on a hill.” The Obama White House sure has a way with words. Totes.
