Maryland Governor O’Malley Signs Law Decriminalizing Weed

Earlier this week, Gov. Martin O’Malley (D) signed into law  a bill that establishes the backbone for a medical marijuana market in Maryland. O’Malley also signed into law a bill decriminalizing the possession of weed.

Although the Governor says he “still doesn’t support Maryland being one of those states that serves as a laboratory for legalization of marijuana,” many experts say medical marijuana and possession decriminalization laws usually lead to other laws that usher in full legalization.
