Obama White House Gets Called Out On Equal Pay Propaganda

Jay Carney got upset today when a Reuters reporter pushed back on the stat being peddled by the Obama administration that women earn 77 cents for every dollar a man makes. That stat has been questioned by several economists, its usage taken back by a White House spokesman, and used by the press as a bludgeoning tool to beat Obama’s hypocritical administration over the head with.

Indeed, Democrats can’t run on Obamacare or the economy and have instead opted to hold up the equal pay straw man hoping it will distract the American people. But as CNN’s John Kings points out, the White House is trying to push the passage of the Paycheck Fairness Act all while it’s paying women in the White House less than men.

As I have written here before, despite the many myths surrounding the so-called “gender gap,” one thing is certain: Obama doesn’t practice what he preaches. 2013’s Annual Report to Congress on White House staff showed that female employees in Barack Obama’s White House make $10,000 less than male ones. Even Democratic federal-level campaigns pay minorities and women staffers significantly less than their white male counterparts.

The Obama administration is quickly becoming a parody of its own self. Embarrassing for them, but fun for us to watch.
