In this hilarious faux PSA, FirstBank pokes fun at the gluttonous use of technology by the average American consumer. The ad paints a vaguely dark scene from the not too distant future. The entire family is wearing futuristic Google Glass-like headsets and is totally distracted from their dinner. Pop-up ads, voice commands, selfless, apps, and games turn the normally Partridge Family-esque dinner scene into a sketch straight out of Saturday Night Live.
The tagline at the end of the ad says, “get back to the real world.” Maybe it’s just me, but the entire bit is oddly similar to the dinner scene in Back to the Future 2.
