Good start, Barry, but who’s next?
Eric Shinseki is one man, but the VA’s dysfunction spanned multiple facilities across the country and, as a preliminary IG report noted, 1,700 veterans at the Phoenix VA were subjected to treatment “delays” of up to four months.
At least 40 deaths are linked specifically to those delays.
So indictments would be nice.
“I regret that he has to resign under these circumstances,” Obama said of Shinseki today.
“I want to reiterate: he is a very good man.”
Those families who had their loved ones leave this world early because of the scandals plaguing the department Shinseki oversaw the last five years may disagree.
