  • How to Zip a Zipper…in Just 75 Short Steps

    Rube Goldberg's legacy lives on

It’s so refreshing to see that the spirit of the great Rube Goldberg, who passed away back in 1970, is still alive and well. His wacky contraptions have inspired generations of young inventors and viral video stars. Every year, The Rube Goldberg Machine Contest challenges its participants to come up with an incredibly complex and humorous way to perform a simple everyday task. This year’s challenge? Zip a zipper.

Congratulations to Andrew, Adam, Becca, David, and Jordan from Purdue University for winning the contest with their amazing contraption, called ” A Simple Way to get Ready for Work.” Above, see it in action on the Kimmel show just a few nights ago.

As a bonus, check out the Goldberg-inspired invention that was featured in this OK GO video a few years back:

Fox has history in broadcasting that spans two decades. From his early days as an FM host and club DJ in the mid-90′s to his later experiences in political talk radio, he has always had a knack for combining topical news with his love for popular culture. Those experiences culminated in his position as executive producer for several radio shows featured in the TALKERS Heavy 100. Originally from New York, Fox has made the great pilgrimage down to sunny south Florida.
