Even Democrats Can’t Explain Where Obama Gets His Executive “Authority” From

Flat-footed

Well, Barack Obama can claim executive authority all he wants, but most people aren’t buying it. On the heels of the Supreme Court declaring his recess appointments unconstitutional, we’re now seeing that even Democrats are struggling to come up with a solid defense of where Barry’s ultimate power comes from. Chris Wallace of Fox News Sunday sat down with Congressman Xavier Becerra (D-CA), and he asked him that precise question.

What gives him the legal authority to rewrite the law?” asked Wallace.

Because you as the executive have the authority and the obligation to make sure laws work,” answered Becerra.

It’s amazing how that response didn’t kinda sorta even come close to answering the question. Becerra might as well have simply retorted, “because he can.” But oh, it got worse:

Just because you see a green light doesn’t mean you cross the street,” stated the California Congressman. “You look both ways before you cross the street.”

Uh…okay? What on God’s green earth does THAT have to with the price of tea in China? We’re talking about a blatant disregard for the laws of America by a sitting president, and the only explanation we get from one of the man’s key supporters is a dollop of metaphorical garbage? If this is the best excuse that can be made for Obama’s trampling of the Constitution, best of luck to these guys when the POTUS attempts to use his “phone and pen” to push backdoor amnesty through. I predict a huge presidential headache will await whatever it is that they plan on doing on that front. Abusing executive authority will be all fine and dandy for this administration…until it takes things one step too far. And perhaps that’s exactly what John Boehner is banking on with his pending lawsuit.

At any rate, if you can figure out what the heck Becerra’s “green light” analogy actually means, please comment below. My head is spinning from all of the possibilities.
