The Official Charlie Rangel Campaign Rap Song is Shockingly Terrible

Sorry, Charlie

It’s Primary Day, New Yorkers! After watching incumbent Congressman Charlie Rangel mock, cheat, and litter his way through this campaign, it was difficult to imagine that the Harlem Hustler would have anything left to offer up in the final hours before the polls close. But Charlie did indeed have one last trick up his sleeve: an official campaign rap song from a strangely unidentified artist.

Rangel added the biographical hip-hop track to his YouTube page, so that all may hear the unique tribute to his supposed service to America. With a rather uninspired chorus that goes “Charlie, Charlie, Charlie Rangel,” the song is about as interesting as a 23rd Rangel term in Washington will be: not very.

In other news, Barack Obama has declined to endorse the ethically-challenged 84-year old Rangel in these final hours of the campaign. It’s hard to know whether that’s a good or bad thing.
