The New York Post says it best: “He’s no mere tax and rent cheat — he’s a litterbug, too!”

A video was leaked to the paper that depicts none other than Harlem’s own 22-term Congressman Charlie Rangel unwrapping some unidentified type of candy or gum…and throwing it on the floor! I’d imagine Al Gore is headed up to New York already to administer Charlie a spanking.

The video, which illustrates the event in great detail thanks to the advent of slow-motion technology, was filmed at the Malcolm X and Dr. Betty Shabazz Memorial Center in Washington Heights. “That’s hallowed ground for a lot of people, and he should know better than anybody because he was around when [Malcolm X was killed],” said former Rangel aide Vince Morgan. That certainly makes you wonder what beef Mr. Morgan has with his old boss, does it not?

We’ve reached the final leg of a tortuous primary that also included Rangel engaging in a fake phone call during one debate, cheating on an iPad during another debate, and comparing the Tea Party to Hamas terrorists. On Tuesday, voters will head to the polls, which will put this circus of a campaign to bed…but most likely won’t result in any less Charlie. I guess New Yorkers will get what they vote for. Again.
