It should be the sacred vow of all Americans to never forget what happened to this country on September 11th, 2001. To that end, take a look at the appearance former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani made on The Late Show With David Letterman just 13 days after the horrific attacks on New York and Washington.
A much younger Rudy emerged to raucous cheers from the Letterman audience, and you can tell that he was still quite shaken by all that had happened in those initial two weeks. Despite 9/11 being an extremely fresh wound at the time, Mayor Giuliani demonstrated a calm poise, while still clearly realizing that life in America had changed forever.
“Since then, my life hasn’t been the same…and neither has anyone else’s,” Rudy told Dave.
We’re all thankful that America’s Mayor was there to take the reins during those terrifying months.
