On Tuesday’s “Special Report,” Charles Krauthammer criticized President Obama’s response to ISIS in the wake of the emergence of a new video that shows the second American journalist being beheaded by the murderous terror group.
Krauthammer blasted Obama for wavering and for his unwillingness to go before the world and acknowledge the threat of radical Islamic terrorism.
“Obama is the image of a man in denial on the verge of delusion,” Krauthammer said. “This is a man who is narrowly redefining the threat, essentially saying a drone strike here and a drone strike there and that’s all that we have to do. The global war on terror he declared to be over or an exaggeration or something intolerable in which he said the tide of war is receding and we can’t tolerate an endless war. And here’s a man who comes into office and denies the existence of global war on terror and what do we see? An attack in Somalia from al Shabaab, we have Boko Haram in Nigeria kidnapping and enslaving women, massacring Christians.”
He continued to argue the case that the world is falling apart and is being consumed by Islamic barbarism, all under Obama’s watch. Islamic jihadists are, indeed, establishing their coveted caliphate, from Somalia to Niger Libya to Yemen, and, in Syria and Iraq. Murderous Islamic militants are exacting their deadly designs “everywhere,” Krauthammer contends.
“The establishment of a base today in Niger as a way combat jihadist in Mali, the taking over of the American compound in Libya by jihadists and Islamists and, of course what’s happening in Yemen and here I’m leave out the obvious events in Syria and Iraq,” Krauthammer continued.
Finally, Krauthammer unloaded on Obama for his unwillingness to indict these killers as “Islamic” terrorists.
“It’s a global war and Obama persists on calling them extremists as if they are extremists for what reason, they are just very upset about a lot of stuff,” Krauthamer quipped.
“Obama will not call it by its tame — Islamic radicalism. We will not admit or concede it’s a worldwide movement. And he will not concede what he’s done for these five years — underestimating, underplaying and not explaining to the American people the necessity of carrying it on is now beginning to bear fruit. Everywhere in the world as it is America’s position in the world is collapsing,” he concluded.
And, indeed, a brand new Rasmussen poll shows that 73% of American voters are in agreement with Krauthammer, saying they are extremely concerned with Obama’s lack of a plan to deal with ISIS.
