In a recent interview on MSNBC, Ronan Farrow asked Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-Ca.), “Madam Leader, are we at war” with ISIS?
“Well they, uh, you know, people use the term. We have the war on drugs and the war on this and the war on that,” Pelosi responded.
“Uh, the, we are, we have initiated hostilities against ISIS, that’s for sure,” she stammered and stuttered.
So, to be clear, Nancy Pelosi isn’t willing to call over 150 air strikes against ISIS targets in Iraq and the 1,600 troops the U.S. military has already deployed in Iraq a “war” effort. But she was more than willing to use the GOP’s opposition to taxpayer-subsidized student loan interest rates, as an example of the GOP’s so-called “war on women.”
Responding to Speaker John Boehner’s (R-OH) plan to pay for student loan interest rate increases by using funds in Obamacare, Pelosi said “He’s calling it a slush fund, well, it may be a slush fund to him, but it’s survival to women. It’s survival to women.”
It’s this kind of idiotic rhetoric from Nancy Pelosi and the Democratic Party, that trivializes and belittles the actual violence that women do suffer from.
