Even Liberal Hack Alex Wagner Knows Obama’s Amnesty Will End His “2008 Promise Of Bipartisanship”

In a video announcement taped from the White House earlier today, Obama said he will address the nation at 8 p.m. ET Thursday to announce his illegal immigration reform plan. “What I’m going to be laying out is the things that I can do, with my lawful authority as president, to make the system work better—even as I continue to work with Congress and encourage them to get a bipartisan, comprehensive bill that can solve the entire problem,” Obama said.

Congressional Republicans didn’t waste time before they blasted Obama’s immigration plan.

“If Emperor Obama ignores the American people and announces an amnesty plan that he himself has said over and over again exceeds his Constitutional authority, he will cement his legacy of lawlessness and ruin the chances for congressional action on this issue — and many others,” said Michael Steel, spokesman for House Speaker John Boehner.

Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-IA) told reporters that the president is “doing the wrong thing and I’ll do whatever I can to override what he’s trying to do.”

Obama is about to burn any remaining bipartisan bridges with Congressional Republicans.

“This in some ways does mark the end of President Obama’s 2008 promise of bipartisanship and a Washington that could function above politics, or partisan politics,” liberal MSNBC host Alex Wagner said today.

That’s about as close as they hack is going to get to admitting that Barack Obama is a hypocrite.
