  • Krauthammer: Executive Amnesty Shows “Arrogance And Contempt For The Voice Of The People”

Numerous polls show that the American people favor border security more than they do a legal status for illegal immigrants.

But since when did Obama let facts get in the way of his political agenda?

During his post-election press conference Obama promised to act alone, without Congress, on immigration if the new GOP majority didn’t pass a bill that he likes.

Tonight on CNN, Obama’s Senior Adviser, Dan Pfeiffer confirmed as much. CNN’s Wolf Blitzer asked Pfeiffer “if Congress doesn’t pass comprehensive immigration reform between now and the end of the year, the president will take unilateral action?”

“As he said yesterday that is correct,” Pfeiffer responded.

Charles Krauthammer added that Obama’s plan to implement immigration through an executive order “shows contempt for the system” and shows “arrogance and contempt for the voice of the people.”

“It the election was a repudiation of what the Democrats are doing. Stop doing that. And it was at every level, House, Senate, governorships, and that is a very clear unmistakable message,” Krauthammer said on tonight’s Special Report.

“What impresses me is Obama’s arrogance and contempt for the voice of the people. This was a very unequivocal election. It was not nuanced. It was across the board. It was everywhere…we have had a verdict by the people of a kind that is quite unusual in American history and to go ahead and ignore it in spite of that, in spite of a rejection, in spite of a repudiation to say ‘I’m going to ignore the Congress and the will of the people I will do this regardless’ I think, shows contempt for the system,” he added.
