  • Surge Original Mashup: “Ferguson Reacts … Not So Well”

When the grand jury decision was revealed in Ferguson, Missouri last night that Officer Darren Wilson would not be indicted for the killing of teenager Michael Brown, Ferguson’s ability to control itself was put to the test. Did the community pass? You be the judge.

Race-hustlers like Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson made a bee-line for the cameras. Looters and criminals burned buildings to the ground and robbed stores. TV reporters were pelted with rocks and had their cameras destroyed. Profanity, violence, and all-around anarchy abounded at every turn.

Is this community doing itself any favors at all by behaving in this way? Or is it merely succeeding in perpetuating the stereotypes and precise atmosphere that leads to racial tension in the first place? Check out today’s Surge Original Mashup of the most outrageous reactions and outbursts in the video above.
