  • Indiana Pizzeria Raised More Than 100K In Less Than 24 Hours

A fund set up to help the Indiana pizza shop under fire for its owner’s stated refusal to cater gay weddings has garnered nearly more than six figures in 16 hours.

More than 3,000 people had donated $100,000 (and counting) as of Thursday morning through a gofundme page set up by Lawrence Billy Jones III, an investigative reporter for radio host Dana Loesch, “to relieve the financial loss endured by the proprietors’ stand for faith.” (RELATED: Owners Of Indiana Pizza Shop Opposed To Gay Marriage Receive Death Threats)

Jones set up the page Wednesday with an initial fundraising goal of $45,000 and urged followers to make liberals “really mad” by raising $50,000 by midnight. Within three hours, donors forked over $30,000.

DO REALLY WANT TO MAKE THE LIBERALS MAD??? Lets raise $50,000 by midnight!!!!

“Night tweeps,” he later tweeted. “Pray for a liberal tonight…… They’re so mad tonight. I wonder why?!!!”

Memories Pizza became a national target overnight after the owners said in an interview they would not refuse gay customers, but would refuse to cater a gay wedding. “If a gay couple came in and wanted us to provide pizzas for their wedding, we would have to say no,” owner Crystal O’Connor told a local news station.

The outrage machine was quick, and the pizzeria’s Yelp page was bombarded with bad reviews. Loesch tweeted that she had spoken with the owners, who said they had received death threats and are considering closing the pizzeria. (RELATED: The Real Story Behind The Hateful Indiana Pizzeria)
