  • ISIS Savages Destroy Another Ancient City

Islamic State terrorists–who have proudly displayed horrific images of beheaded captives, people being burnt alive and collections of severed heads–released a new militant video showing members destroying a historic archaeological site and artifacts that are thousands of years old.

“Praise to God, who enabled us and the soldiers of Islamic State to remove the signs of polytheism,” says one Islamic State fighter in the video while destroying antiquities in the ancient fortress city of Hatra, a northern Iraqi city that first rose to prominence in the 3rd century.

“Islamic State has sent us to these idols to destroy them,” said another militant. “Some of the infidel organizations say the destruction of these alleged artifacts is a war crime. We will destroy your artifacts and idols anywhere and Islamic State will rule your lands.”

The ISIS savages can be seen using pickaxes and sledgehammers to chip away at thousand year old sculptures. One militant can be seen firing a rifle at the ancient relics.

The “idols” of pre-Islamic civilizations are heretical, false images of divinity that must be destroyed, according to the Islamic State’s puritanical creed.

ISIS holds a third of Iraq and Syria.

Extremists have already looted, smashed and vandalized a number of key ancient sites in Iraq including the  former 700BC Assyrian capital near Mosul.
