  • Texas Teacher Punished for Calling Islam an ‘Ideology of War’

A Texas high school teacher is facing punishment from his school district for allegedly sending students home recently with an eight-page pamphlets that shamed Islam as an “ideology of war” and saying the religion is responsible for beheadings and kidnappings.

“You will either give into their demands recognizing Islam’s ‘noble’ rule, you will become a Muslim yourself, or you will die,” handout titled “Islam/Radical Islam (Did You Know)” claimed.

The handout called Muhammad a “false Prophet” and made unsourced claims like “there are an estimated 190-300 million ‘radical Islam’ followers” and”38% of Muslims believe people that leave the faith should be executed.”

The material talks about Sharia Law, terrorism, jihad, even beheadings and what do if ever attacked or captured by radical Islamic followers.

The parents of one of the students in the classroom contacted the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), a Muslim civil liberties organization, who complained to the school. The Houston branch of CAIR, called for swift action from the district.

“Only a strong response to this attempt at student indoctrination will send a message that our schools must never be incubators of hate,” said CAIR-Houston Executive Director Mustafaa Carroll.

The school district spokesman said they were “disappointed” by the episode and promised the teacher, who has not been identified, would face punishment but gave no indication of what it may involve.
