  • Hillary Clinton’s Limo Incident Shames New York Time’s Coverage of Rubio’s Driving Record

Conservative political commentator Mark Steyn, while guest-hosting for Rush Limbaugh on Tuesday, revealed a dark secret of Hillary Clinton’s past that should put the New York Times to shame for focusing on Marco Rubio’s speeding tickets.

“If we are going to do stories about the driving records of the presidential candidates, New York Times, here’s one that would make a great front page story,” Steyn said.

Steyn explained that Clinton’s chauffeur, back in 2001, in what he calls a ‘driving Miss Hillary’ situation, crashed through an airport security fence at 35mph with her in the back.

“In 2001 Senator Clinton was being driven to the Westchester county airport, which is where you go to get on a private plane. And she was at the security checkpoint and her driver decided to go through it at 35 miles an hour injuring the county police officer, Earnest Diamond, in the process,” he said.

“Officer Diamond said ‘Clinton’s car was going so fast, I didn’t know if we had a terrorist.’ The senator’s limousine sped on for another hundred yards with Diamond banging on the window and door and shouting for the vehicle to stop,” he continued. “And they only, finally did when the Westchester cop through his shoulder into the door like a football lineman, sustaining injuries that would require emergency room treatment.”

Amazingly, Clinton for ran for president, served as Secretary of State and this incident involving her limo nearly running someone over has never resurfaced in the media and, as Steyn points out, was barely reported on during the time of the occurrence:

“In the two weeks after that incident, not a single New York newspaper, not even the New York Times which is so fascinated by traffic offenses, by politicians in their motor vehicles, not a single newspaper covered this story.

“The fact that Mrs. Clinton gate-crashed the security barrier in her limousine, injuring officer Earnest Diamond and requiring him to be taken to the emergency room. But you know, Mrs. Rubio, not coming to a complete stop at that stop sign, that’s front page news right there from the New York Times.”

Steyn also noted Clinton’s hypocrisy in requiring people to show ID to attend her campaign events, including the same event during which she shamed Republicans for conspiring “a sweeping effort to disempower and disenfranchise people of color, poor people and young people” by requiring every one show ID to vote.

“Where she is telling you that it is racist for Republicans to depress minority turn out by demanding voter ID, but you can’t get into the event to hear her talk about Republicans are racist for demanding voter ID, because to get into the event, you have to have ID,” Steyn said.

“If you try to gate crash a Hillary Clinton event they shoot you dead,” he added, “but she rams the security barrier at Westchester airport at 35 miles per hour and nobody cares. Heavens, it’s not like Mrs. Rubio double parking is it? That’s a big story in the New York Times.”
