GUN NEWS: Missouri Casts Off Gov’t Controls and Goes Full Constitutional Carry

Missouri locks and loads.

The state legislature just overturned a veto by Governor Jay Nixon and passed “Constitutional Carry”.

If you’re not a gun person, you may ask, “What’s that”?

It’s clear and simple. You no longer need permission from the State of Missouri to exercise your Second Amendment right found in the Constitution.

According to Tony “Bullets First” Oliva

The Show Me State doesn’t quite live up to its name in one regard anymore…a governmental permission slip to exercise your 2nd Amendment rights is no longer required in Missouri.   With the override of Democrat and gun hating Governor Jay Nixon’s veto Missouri joins an ever growing list of states that no longer require permits in order to carry concealed firearms.

On January 1st, 2017 Missouri becomes the 10th Constitutional Carry state in the nation, meaning that 20% of the states in America no longer require the extortion of money from, and the hat in hand begging of, citizens in order to exercise their 2nd Amendment rights.

This is a huge casting off of governmental power. It’s pretty stunning really. I mean Missouri has produced US Senator and anti-gun liberal Democrat, Claire McCaskill, as well as, Governor Nixon a raging, anti-second amendment yo-yo, also a Democrat.

Nixon actually vetoed the bill to allow Constitutional Carry, but support was so widespread his veto was over-ridden.

Here’s how people imagine the debate in Missouri to allow all citizens to enjoy their right to carry a firearm went down:

As far as I know, no one was actually killed in the negotiations.

However, the classic movie about Missouri native, The Outlaw Josey Wales did share some wisdom about dealing with Senators:

As a gun loving American, I’ve always been partial to the Second Amendment. It’s sort of a permission slip to stand up and take care of yourself.

What an honor. Most places in the world don’t trust their people near enough to say what our Second Amendment says. Here is some of the most beautiful poetry every written in twenty-seven words:

A well regulated militia being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed.

Good job Missouri. The freedom emanating from the Second Amendment always made me appreciate the saying:

A FREE man(or woman) doesn’t have to ask permission.

This is best news out of Missouri for awhile. Missouri has not had a great go of it lately.

There was that whole racial riot thing in Ferguson. The Cardinals are way behind the Cubs. It could be tempting to be sad if you’re from Missouri, but no more.

Tuck that carry gun you love and leave your permit at home.

Aaah, that is the sound of freedom.

Of course, not everyone is happy about Missouri getting free with their weapons. Liberals are kind of freaking out.

Everytown for Gun Safety issued a statement:

Missouri lawmakers buckled to the NRA instead of listening to the vast majority of Missouri voters, including mayors and law enforcement leaders, who support our current concealed carry permit system.

They can say what they want, but it looks more like the legislators voted how their constituents wanted them to. In the Senate the vote was 24-6 while in the House it was 112-41 which are pretty substantial majorities.

In other words, it wasn’t even close.

Sorry liberals. You’ll be safer in Missouri than ever before. You’re welcome.

Missouri: Keep calm and carry on.
