Sometimes, 250,000 words in the English language simply isn’t enough. I know I’d be mighty ticked if I was competing in a spelling bee that went over 60 rounds, only to result in a tied score. But for some reason, the organizers of this one couldn’t manage to come up with one more single W-O-R-D. They were worried that randomly pulling words from the dictionary would result in one of the contestants receiving a word that could be deemed “too easy”, so they decided that a tie made for the better outcome.
