In a recent interview on C-SPAN’s Newsmakers, NAACP interim president Lorraine Miller said, “we’d love to have him,” regarding Kentucky Republican Senator Rand Paul.
Ten months ago, Paul addressed a group of students at Howard University, one of America’s oldest historically black universities, and announced his plan for “Economic Freedom Zones.”
“The NAACP, we’re willing to extend our hand in an effort of sincere calibration and once we do that I think we can come up with things that will mutually benefit the African American community,” Miller said in regards to working with Congressional Republicans.
