• Man Beats Machine…in Ping Pong

    Robot apocalypse averted yet again.

Not since Deep Blue vs. Garry Kasparov has a battle of man vs. machine been so dramatic. But thankfully, mankind shall live to fight another day.

Kuka Robotics just celebrated the opening of its first Shanghai plant with this epic showdown between Ping Pong champion Timo Boll and the “Agilus” robot designed by their company.

In the end, Boll won 11-9, ensuring that the Rise of the Machines will not destroy humankind anytime soon. Skynet be damned! On the other hand, you may still have some concerns over this story about a robot being developed to take the University of Tokyo entrance exam.

Let’s hope they don’t attempt a robot “twerking” competition next. Humans, you are welcome to comment below. Cybernetic organisms, not so much.
