Remember that 2011 documentary film, Jiro Dreams of Sushi? It may be due for a sequel. Barry Dreams of Sashimi, perhaps?Barack kicked off his Asia tour yesterday with some sushi diplomacy, as he visited Sukiyabashi Jiro, the hottest underground sushi joint in Tokyo — the one featured in the aforementioned documentary. If you’ve seen the movie, you might recall that the secret subterranean hot-spot seats only 10 people, and each patron pays a minimum of $300 bucks for just 20 pieces of sushi, served up one cut at a time. No appetizers, no rolls, and only one item on the menu. Very posh.
“That’s some good sushi right there,” declared Barry upon departing. “It was terrific.”
No word on whether he went out on a nacho run afterwards. I wouldn’t blame him, though–I’d still be starving too after eating only 20 tiny pieces of sushi.
Quite an exciting week for Mr. BHO! First it was storybooks and hoops for Easter, and now this. I can’t wait to see what’s next on his busy agenda…you know, as the world continues to crumble, or something.
