And here we go with your “Why didn’t I think of that?” post of the week.
Leave it to a Brit to make Easter a whole lot more fun…by inserting bacon into the festivities!
Yep, British father of two, Mike Gurman, weaved together 24 slices of bacon to create what very well may be the world’s first Bacon Easter Egg, just in time for this weekend’s celebration.
“The Internet has an obsession with bacon, and in my brain, I wondered if someone had already made an Easter egg out of bacon,” Gurman said to The Daily Star. “I couldn’t really find anything that was any way similar to what I had in mind.”According to Gurman’s blog, “The egg conceals a couple of nice Cumberland sausages and some fried slices of black pudding.” He says he was first struck with the idea when he heard his buddies discussing giving up chocolate for Lent, and started to ponder alternatives.
When he’s not cooking up delicious bacon eggs, Mike is quite the inventive chef. Other creations of his include bacon waffles, “mac and chocolate”, and cooked grasshoppers. And I’m guessing he owns one of these, too.
