• Fallon, Colbert, Meyers Blast Obamacare, 7.1 Million Enrollment Number

Yesterday Barack Obama kicked off his administration’s 7.1 Million Obamacare Enrollees Victory Tour.

The White House Twitter account launched a barrage of celebratory tweets like the one below featuring the hashtag #7MillionAndCounting:

    Yay, America!

Now that 7.1 million enrollee figure doesn’t indicate how many Americas have actually paid their premiums, nor does it measure the amount of people who signed up and were previously uninsured. But never mind those stupid little facts. Obama has 7.1 million squirrels, you guys!!!

Indeed, the 7.1 million enrollment figure is a joke. And that’s exactly how it was treated last night by a few late night hosts.

“It’s amazing what you can achieve when you make something mandatory and you fine people if they don’t it and you keep extending the deadline for months.” —  Jimmy Fallon

“What are numbers anyway but artificial constructs? And did you know that these are Arabic numerals?” —  Stephen Colbert

“Today was the last day to sign up for ObamaCare. And yesterday, Californians trying to sign up by phone, were accidentally redirected to a phone sex hot line. And when the hotline asked what their fantasy was, callers responded, “I’d like to keep my current coverage.” It’s not a giant fantasy, but it’s a fantasy of mine.” — Seth Meyers
