Sometimes it’s hard to tell whether an idea is severely disturbing or simply genius. Case in point, the above internet video advertisement that KFC has released just in time for high school proms across the country. It features a young man giving his girlfriend a “chicken corsage” before they depart her parents’ house for the big night. The disturbing part? The “chicken corsage” is actually a real thing.
That’s right; for a limited time only, you can purchase a special corsage kit for $20 that comes packed with a $5 gift card. You’ll then use the gift card to pick out your favorite flavor of The Colonel’s chicken (Original Recipe, Extra Crispy, or Kentucky Grilled). Nanz & Kraft, the Louisville company manufacturing the corsages, says they’re nearly sold out.
Think this is some kind of late April Fool’s joke? Think again:
Thank you @kfc for asking me to prom with a chicken corsage. #putawingonit pic.twitter.com/2ozjt2K0Fl
