    It’s a cognitive dissonance-inducing political paradox that has political analysts on both sides of the aisle scratching their heads.

    In one of the poorest areas of the US, voters are fiercely opposed to Barack Obama and support Republicans even though they have promised to cut social programs that provide the basic necessities that keep many people afloat, according to the Associated Press.
