“Evil Elmo” Won a Karaoke Contest With This Metal Cover

Let the bodies hit the floor...

Sometimes you see a viral video and you’re not sure whether to bust out laughing…or to be seriously concerned for someone’s mental health. Case in point, “Evil Elmo” performing this karaoke rendition of Drowning Pool’s “Bodies.”

“Evil Elmo” is performed by Stuart Dryden, who has already racked up over 100,000 YouTube views with this clip. He went on to win the competition that night, which was put on by a DC-based competitive karaoke league called District Karaoke. Yes, competitive karaoke leagues are a real thing.

Given that Kevin Clash, the performer behind the real Elmo, had to resign two years ago due to sexual molestation allegations, this actually isn’t the worst thing in the world for the little red Muppet. In fact, perhaps the Children’s Television Workshop should give Stuart a call and see if he wants the job.
