Hypocrisy, Thy Name is Bernie Sanders

The VA scandal is starting to hit a little too close to Bernie's home

Can you sense the discomfort? Can you taste the hypocrisy? That’s America’s favorite Socialist Senator Bernie Sanders, getting grilled by someone who’s supposed to be a friendly. Sanders, who is said to be mulling a completely pointless presidential run in 2016, has been quite vocal when it comes to his opinion on the GOP wanting to continue investigating Benghazi. “From day one, the Republicans have politicized this issue,” Bernie once said while attempting to make the case to end all discussion and probes into the matter. Well, here we are with yet another Obama administration scandal and another impending investigation…but this time, Sanders is singing a different tune. Why? I may be going out on a limb here, but I think it just might have something to do with Bernie’s status as the Chairman of the Veterans Affairs Committee.

It was only a few days ago that Senator Sanders tried to blame the Koch Brothers for the horrible scandal at the VA, which caused an untold number of veterans to die while being stuck on a secret “wait list” for medical care. The VA has come under fire for years now for being, in essence, a bureaucratic nightmare. But as Chairman of the VA Committee, Bernie knows that any black marks against the agency could reflect poorly on him as well…and that’s bad for business when you’re attempting to delude yourself into a presidential run.

So here we have Bernie Sanders begging us all to wait and not “rush to judgment” before all the facts are out there. “Before we make assertions, we have to have independent investigations,” he proclaims. But has he ever given Republicans the same courtesy? Democrats, including Sanders, have rushed to the judgment that Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton bear no responsibility for the terror attacks that took place in Benghazi; has Bernie ever suggested that “we should wait” until the GOP finishes their investigation? Of course not. It’s only when the sludge is about to hit HIM that he begs the patience of the American people.

Duplicity, thy name is Sanders. Who ever thought it would take Ronan Farrow to expose it?
