• Rep. Clyburn: ‘I Don’t Know If Clarence Thomas Is An Uncle Tom’

    This is just disgusting.

Last weekend, Mississippi Democratic Rep. Bennie Thompson doubled down on his racial remarks in which he called sitting Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas an “Uncle Tom.” Rep. Thompson hurled the vulgar racial slur at Justice Thomas for voting against affirmative action in a recent Supreme Court decision.

This morning, Rep. James Clyburn (D-SC) took Thompson’s insults even further saying he didn’t know if Clarence Thomas was an Uncle Tom or not. When MSNBC host Joe Scarborough pressed Clyburn on Thompson’s Uncle Tom remarks, Clyburn said “A lot of African-Americans find his opinions very insulting.”

What I find insulting is that having a difference of opinion makes you a target for this kind of hate. It is absolutely shameful that two elected Democrats can go on live TV and disrespect a sitting Supreme Court Justice in this way. These people don’t possess an ounce of shame.

The term Uncle Tom is a despicable phrase used to describe a black person who isn’t a liberal as betraying their race for simply espousing a different opinion. And it’s a term only used by gutless, liberal Democrats who have no respect for themselves or for people who happen to disagree with their worldview.

Clarence Thomas is a distinguished man who serves his country with honor and integrity. And I for one am sick and tired of hearing his name dragged through the mud.

I’m willing to bet that these spineless reprobates wouldn’t dare speak this filth to Justice Thomas’ face. Why? Because that’s how cowards in the Democratic Party operate. If you don’t think a certain way, or nod your head in blind agreement to their point of view, they curse you, call you names, and use language they wouldn’t dare utter in front of their own mother.

The people of South Carolina and Mississippi deserve better than the two utterly embarrassing, poor excuses for men they are being represented by. Rep. Clyburn and Thompson are U.S. Congressman. And here they are name calling, and behaving like petulant children.

They should both be shamed and ran out of office.
