• Sen. Al Franken: There’s Nothing About Me That Anyone Could Possibly Mock

    "Impeccable"

Sometimes, you have to just let the clips speak for themselves, folks.

Okay, maybe I’ll share a few words.

According to Al Franken, he’s been a Grade-A perfect specimen of a United States senator, so that means there’s absolutely no need to make fun of this former SNL cast member. Yes indeed, the host of the “Air America” talk radio show that lasted about as long as a sneeze–and the author of Rush Limbaugh is a Big Fat Idiothas decided to put all laughing matters aside in service of something greater: himself.

That means if you want to have some chuckles with Al, your best bet is to travel a few years back in time and order a used copy of his “Best of the O’Franken Factor” compact disc. Otherwise, it’s all business for O’Franken. And who could blame him, with a legislative record so rich with accomplishment that it’s virtually impossible for anyone I know to come up with a single one?

Might I recommend that if Al’s Senate career ever comes to an end, he should consider hosting a late night talk show?  Stephen Colbert says late night is no place for “fake people” like the one he’s played for years, so it would certainly be another great opportunity for Senator Smalley to show us what kind of man he really is. You know, since he’s wowed us with his realism in the Senate and all.
