• Carolla: The Left Thought All America Had To Do Is Elect Obama And Things Would Be Better

Today on his popular podcast “The Adam Carolla Show,” Carolla said, “The problem with the left is they don’t recognize evil.”

Well, no, they recognize me as being evil for making a Chaz Bono joke, but they don’t recognize real evil. I’ve been through this. I’ve been through this with my mom and as it pertains to the Soviet Union. Think about when Reagan called them an evil empire. You know what the left did? ‘Oh my God, are you kidding me? We dropped two atomic bombs on another nation. You’re calling them the evil empire? They’ve never dropped an atomic bomb.'”

Carolla went on to summarize the thoughtlessness of liberal who thought if we just elected a non-white male with blue eyes and a cowboy hat, that those who wish to bring harm to America would stop their evil con conquests and love us.

Let me explain something. The thought was, as far as the Middle East goes, because they are people who don’t recognize evil and they think with their hearts. The thought was this: when we get a guy in office that’s got a darker skin shade, that doesn’t have blue eyes, that has an exotic name, they are going to understand that he is a good guy and there will be more sympathy. They’re not going to respond to Bush, he’s an asshole; Obama, he knows how to talk to them. They are going to respond, they are going to like what they see in him. I mean, they’re going to respond to that, they are going to see in him, you know, this is someone more like us.”

“This guy is going to go over there with the exotic name and the dark skin and he’s going to sit down with these people and they are going to go, ‘Okay, he’s not the cowboy with the blue eyes,'” Carolla continued.

What they didn’t anticipate is evil. They think it has to do with who is in charge over here. It’s not whose in charge over there. These guys make policies that sometimes work and sometimes don’t. I’m not saying we should have gone over there in the first place, I’m saying there was a quiet, unspoken — when we get the mellow guy in place, with the cool name, then they are going to understand they’ll knock it off. Did it work?”
