  • Dem Rep: Obama Needs To Visit The Border

    Rep. Raul Grijalva (D-AZ) surprised MSNBC host Alex Wagner on her show Monday when he said he believed “the borderlands deserve a presidential visit.”

    I’m guessing Grijalva hasn’t heard that Obama is a king, Obama does whatever he wants to do, and visiting the border isn’t one of those things.

    As fellow Surger Matt Fox pointed out earlier today, tone-deaf Obama doesn’t really care that there’s a border crises happening right now. He is coming to Texas to raise money for Democrats and doesn’t have plans to visit the border.

    Last week, a IBD/TIPP poll said a majority of Americans, 59%, hold Obama responsible for the current border crises. And a new Rasmussen poll says that 46% of U.S. voters believe Obama encouraged the illegal immigrant children now flooding the border.

    I’m not sure what the political calculus is behind Obama’s decision to simply ignore this chaos. But I’m positive that pleas from elected Democrats like Grijalva are just the beginning.

    The polls show voters blame Obama for the current border crisis. And if Obama continues to lead from behind on this issue, there won’t be a shortage of Democrats throwing him under the bus to save their own political careers.
