• Guns in Campaign Ads May Have Just Jumped the Shark With This Democrat



    Listen, I’m down with promoting Second Amendment rights as much as anybody, but even I have to admit it’s been WAY overdone in campaign ads. Over the years, we’ve seen (mostly) Republicans shooting at just about every game imaginable in 30 seconds or less. What once seemed hip is now tired and predictable.

    But you know it’s going to get cringe-worthy when Democrats jump into the pro-Second Amendment ad game. Above, we have Estakio Beltran, a 31-year old liberal guy running for Congress. Apparently, his main qualification for office is that he’s able to shoot an elephant piñata with a shotgun from a whopping 10 yards away. I’m pretty sure a trained monkey could as well.

    Yeah, I’d say it’s about time to retire the “let’s shoot at stuff” concept in campaign ads, regardless of political party. They’re kind of an embarrassment. Besides, it will make room for more brilliant ideas like this:
