Alright, I think we’ve seen enough appearances by Rula Jebreal at this point to conclude that the woman is absolutely batty, if not simply a prima donna. I don’t know whether she’s in denial or just self-loathing, but the fact that she’s too ashamed to admit that she’s a Palestinian journalist is telling. While I agree with her to the extent that you wouldn’t generally identify a TV news guest as “white man” on the screen, the fact is that she had been invited on MSNBC multiple times due to her so-called expertise from the perspective of Palestinians. While I certainly have a huge problem with MSNBC’s blatant pro-Palestinian bias, I’d be even more enraged had they not identified her as a Palestinian at all. The only conceivable reason to hide that information would be for propaganda purposes, and ironically, it’s the exact same sort of propaganda Jebreal accused the network of when she laughably claimed that MSNBC is too pro-Israel.
What amazes me about people like this is that they clearly have a one-sided perspective, yet they are outraged when they are PROPERLY identified for having that perspective. It’s as if she’s worried that if her cover is blown, she won’t be able to recruit as many uninformed MSNBC viewers to her cause as she would have liked. It’s kind of sick, really.
Most of Jebreal’s soapbox diatribes have dealt with her anger over there being a supposed lack of Palestinian voices in mainstream news coverage, yet she’s absolutely outraged if the word “Palestinian” is used to describe someone like herself. It’s akin to the mindset of a three-year old who throws a tantrum over not getting a second slice of cake when they haven’t even eaten their first. Mr. Spock would call it “highly illogical.”
At this point, the continued ranting just looks like sour grapes from a woman who decided to bite the hand that fed her. To blast the very network that gave her a platform to spew her anti-Israel crap and accuse it of favoring the other side too much was foolish in the first place, to say the least…and completely inaccurate. Now the fact that she’s getting booked on additional networks to continue whining that people like her aren’t given enough chances to speak is a whole new level of insanity. As far as I can tell, Rula hasn’t been censored at all. But the more she keeps opening that flap of hers, the more we’ll all wish she was.
Incidentally, Rula’s husband is Jewish. I’m thinking they need to dialogue a little bit more.Send this to a friend
