Her name is Lucy Coffey, she’s the oldest living veteran, and a few weeks ago she got the chance to hangout at the White House. The bad news is, she spent most of the time being badgered by Joe Biden.
Today the White House released a video of Lucy Coffey meeting a flirtatious Uncle Joey.
President Obama even took time from golfing to greet the two-time Bronze Star recipient.
In the video you can see Joe Biden sitting next to Coffey complaining about how much it sucks to be an older, unattractive, second-rate vice president.
“I’m vice president, the president comes in and everybody drops everything,” Biden joked.
Presenting Coffey with a command coin, Biden said “This command coin is not as prestigious as the president’s because it has the word ‘vice’ in front of it.”
And if that wasn’t bad enough, Joe Biden actually thought it was a good idea to show the 108-year-old a picture of his deceased mother.
Stay classy, Joe. Stay classy.
According to Business Insider, Coffey enlisted in 1943, was honorably discharged in 1945, and worked on a Air Force base in Texas until retiring in 1971.
