“I don’t think you’re smarter than anybody else, but you’ve convinced a lot of us you are,” Harry said of the Asian crowd. That was followed shortly by the real death knell in Harry’s comedy career: “One problem that I’ve had today is keeping my Wongs straight.”
Oh yeah, he really just said that. It was one step short of “two Wongs don’t make a white,” and it was pretty cringe-worthy.
Look, I’m not here to be The Joke Police. I’ll celebrate equal opportunity humor until the cows come home. It’s just that Harry Reid has made a living out of assailing Republicans — and specifically the Tea Party — as essentially a bunch of inbred racists from another century. So why should we give him a pass?
Well, the fossil that calls himself the Senate Majority Leader was forced to apologize today. “My comments were in extremely poor taste and I apologize,” Harry told The Hill. “Sometimes I say the wrong thing.”
