• Spitzer Swallows $147 Million in NYC Real Estate Deal, Parties in Paris

It turns out that a lifetime of hookers and lies can really pay off!

Eliot Spitzer, the disgraced former governor of New York and frequent fan of calf-length black socks, closed on a gigantic real estate deal in New York this week that saw the sale of 144 midtown Manhattan rental units for $147 million smackeroos.

So what did he do to celebrate? Why, fly to Paris with his new young brunette girlfriend, Lis Smith! You’ll recall that Eliot and Lis similarly partied in the mountains earlier this year to “celebrate” Spitzer’s divorce after a 26-year marriage. And that was just after the two lovebirds were spotted getting rather hot and heavy in a public hot tub at a resort in Jamaica. Lis was the Communications Director for Eliot’s failed campaign to be Comptroller of New York, but it would appear that her body has been a nice consolation prize for The Spitz. Aren’t these two simply adorable together?

Yeah, it’s good to be King…even if you’re a king only in your own mind. The sale of those rental units was most likely due to a combination of the following facts:

    • Resignation cost the Spitzer family dearly in the financial department.
    • Spitzer gave his ex-wife a hot $7.5 million in the divorce.
    • Part of the divorce agreement involves Spitzer paying his ex $240,000 for the rest of her life, as well as a new car every five years and up to $100,000 towards her favorite charity.

Yikes. No wonder Eliot is ecstatic about freeing up the $147 million. That will easily cover at LEAST the next month of former Mrs. Spitzer’s allowance, maybe even two!
