• Ding Dong, Holder’s Gone…But Liberals Are Already Rewriting His Legacy

    For Dems, it's Opposite Day

It’s hard to argue that Eric Holder hasn’t been the most polarizing and controversial Attorney General of all time. From Fast and Furious to James Rosen, The New Black Panther Party to a “nation of cowards,” Holder has run about the most politically-charged Department of Justice that could possibly be imagined.

But tell that to MSNBC’s Chuck Todd, who asserted mere moments after reports surfaced of Holder’s resignation that “He’s a very non-political person.”

    Huh?

I think people used to mistakenly think that this guy was this long-time political operative who happened to be an Attorney General,” insisted Todd. “That’s not him at all. In fact, that used to get him in some hot water with some of the president’s own political aides who sometimes felt that Eric Holder wasn’t thinking about the politics of an issue.”

Ah, so Holder is a mere victim of circumstance, is he? I don’t know what adult beverages Todd and his marvelous goatee have been indulging in, but rarely have I ever heard a statement so off-base. I’ll refer you to RedState, which posted a partial list of Holder’s scandals and controversies up until last year. I’m guessing it became tiresome and impossible to keep updating it, given all this man has done throughout his term…which is probably why they haven’t put out a 2014 revision.

Meanwhile, Senator Pat Leahy (D-VT) merely broke down in tears this afternoon when speaking about the departing Attorney General with MSNBC’s Andrea Mitchell. “I hate to see Eric Holder leave … nobody’s done it better than he has,” lamented Leahy. “I remember the day he was sworn in and the huge cheers that echoed throughout the Department of Justice, throughout the building, because they were finally getting somebody … who cared about the rule of law.”

“Cheers” echoing throughout the building? I’m sure there were. After all, Democrats were still gloating over Obama’s 2008 election win. But if Leahy is trying to imply that the GOP was heralding this man’s record at the start, he’d best head back to the interstellar planet he and Chuck Todd emanate from. They’ve apparently got some fantastic hallucinogens up there.

But all of that pales in comparison to the reaction Nancy Pelosi and the Congressional Black Caucus had to the news. This crowd was acting as if someone had died! They might as well have held a moment of silence for the resigning A.G.:

I have to admit that I’m a little bummed out as well. I’m totally going to miss Holder’s 1970’s porn mustache.
