• Iranian Prez to American Prez: Your Coalition Sucks

Hey, look! Here’s something we can finally agree with Iran on: Obama’s Coalition of the Wilting is “ridiculous.” And those aren’t my words — well, aside from the “wilting” part. Nope, it’s Iranian President Hassan Rouhani who has declared that the U.S.-led coalition to combat ISIS is “ridiculous.”

NBC’s Ann Curry sat down with Rouhani (again) to discuss the ISIS problem, and for the most part, he was quite direct about the danger the thugs pose to the region and beyond. But he simply couldn’t understand why Obama refuses to put U.S. combat troops in. “Are Americans afraid of getting casualties on the ground in Iraq?” Rouhani asked. “Are they afraid of their soldiers being killed in the fight they claim is against terrorism?

Well, if we’re talking about Obama, then…yeah. I hate to say it, but this dude actually makes some sense. It kind of sounds like the same criticism that Lt. Colonel Ralph Peters would level at our president.

If they want to use unmanned planes so that nobody is injured from the Americans, is it really possible to fight terrorism without any hardship, without any sacrifice? Is it possible to reach a big goal without that? In all regional and international issues, the victorious one is the one who is ready to do sacrifice,” explained Rouhani.

The Iranian leader went on to elucidate why he believes the gruesome tactics of ISIS are antithetical to Muslim teachings. “They want to kill humanity,” he stated. “And from the viewpoint of the Islamic tenets and culture, killing an innocent people equals the killing of the whole humanity. And therefore, the killing and beheading of innocent people, in fact, is a matter of shame for them, and it’s a matter of concern and sorrow for all the human and all the mankind.”

We can argue Rouhani’s motives in this fight until the cows come home. After all, there’s a good chance he’s trying to goad us into putting ground forces in so there’s an all-out explosion in the region. Why else would he infer that Obama is a big wuss? But taken at his word, his observations are pretty spot-on. The fact that he seems more cogent than our Commander-in-Chief should be of grave concern to everyone. There’s also something rather bizarre about an Islamic leader ripping America for NOT putting troops in Iraq. How weird.

And now that I’ve agreed with the Iranian president, I feel like I need a bath.
