• Did You Know American Express Issues Gift Cards With The Name “Serve ISIS” On Them?

A Colorado Springs man named Wayne Davis says he was shocked when he realized that he had received an American Express gift card with the same name as the Islamic terrorist group known as the Islamic State of Syria and Iraq (ISIS).

“I took it to the store to use it, to spend the $15, and the storekeeper let me know that the name on the card said ‘Serve ISIS,'” Davis told KKTV.

Davis reached out to the FBI to ask them about the oddly worded gift card, but, “the FBI don’t care,” he said.

So Davis contacted KKTV and they gave American Express a call.

American Express says “Serve ISIS” is the name of its mobile payment app, which they’ve been using for years. American Express also said they are in the process of changing the name of the app to Soft Card.

Interestingly enough, American Express isn’t the only major company having to cope with the ordeal of sharing a name with a murderous terrorist group.

    There are numerous examples.

ISIS Mag is a London-based hair and beauty magazine that had to issue a statement to its readers and change their logo in order to prominently display the word “Mag,” while concealing the word ISIS.
