Move over, Ebola…because Sam Brownback has zombies to deal with in his state! The Kansas governor is signing a proclamation that will declare October as “Zombie Preparedness Month” — you know, just in time for the season premiere of The Walking Dead.
If you’re scratching your head on this one, there actually is a *somewhat* serious message here. The idea is if you’re prepared for a Walker invasion, you’ll be ready for just about anything. “If you’re equipped to handle the Zombie Apocalypse, then you’re prepared for tornadoes, severe storms, fire and any other natural disaster Kansas usually faces,” explains state official Devan Tucking.Either Governor Brownback really wasn’t interested in going the slightly more prescient route of creating an ISIS Preparedness Month…or he just really loves watching Rick, Daryl, and Michonne kick some undead ass. If it’s the latter, I’m totally cool with it.
Liberals, feel free to insert your jokes here about Republicans believing more in the threat of zombies than they do the threat of global warming. Personally, I’ve seen real zombies…and they are terrifying. Take a look:
