“I think the president is really out of touch with reality when it comes to what’s happening in the world, and I don’t know why that is,” said Romney. “He looked at Russia and thought that was a friend we should reset relations with. He looked at al-Qaeda and said they’re on the run. More recently, he looked at ISIS and said, oh, they’re just the junior varsity. He looks at Iraq and says, hey, they’re strong and able to care for themselves. Look, he is so out of touch with reality that he hasn’t taken the action necessary to prevent bad things from happening.”
On 2012 specifically, Romney said, “Oh, I think they have some buyer’s remorse about President Obama“:
“I don’t know whether you can’t see reality from a fairway, but the president has not seen the reality internationally and domestically,” posited Mitt, as he trashed both the Obama foreign policy as well as his domestic incompetence. Of course, Russia was among the many hot topics the former presidential candidate focused on, since he has, by and large, been proven right in the predictions he once made about Vladimir Putin.
The real question is whether this does any good at all for the Republican party. At a time when the GOP hasn’t quite figured out how they plan on taking down Hillary Clinton in 2016, nervous establishment types are already hoping Mitt makes a third attempt at the White House. While it’s highly unlikely, stranger things have happened. But if he actually managed to secure the nomination, it could spell political suicide for Republicans in the general election to put up a man who is, by all accounts, a two-time loser. A rather nice man, of course…but still a two-time loser. What do you think? Is relitigating the 2012 election with Mitt Romney doing Sunday news interviews helpful to his party? Or is it harmless to have a man who most likely will never run for president again out there blasting the Democrat Commander-in-Chief? Sound off below.
