Democrats are desperately trying to keep control of the Senate, however, Rep. Bruce Braley isn’t helping much.
During a debate with his opponent, Republican State Sen. Joni Ernst, Rep. Braley told the crowd that he voted “to give the president limited authority to begin strikes against terrorists in Iraq and Syria.” But the bad news for Braley is, Congress has never held a vote to authorize airstrikes against ISIS.So it’s no wonder that Brlaey is leaving a sour taste in liberals like MSNBC host Andrea Mitchell’s mouth. He’s “turned out to be a terrible candidate,” Mitchell said today.
And the poll numbers don’t lie, either. Braley is getting beat badly by Ernst, and the numbers below came out before his poor debate performance.
“Bruce Braley has made a number of mistakes,” MSNBC contributor Chris Cilizza said, “about his neighbor and their chickens getting onto his lawn.”
The midterm elections are now just 36 days away.
