• Democrats Are Desperate… And It’s Getting Despicable

Politics is not beanbag. Elected officials throwing mud, taking personal swipes, and being petty is all a part of politics.

But the lengths that some Democrats are going in order to scare voters to the polls, is downright disgusting.

Take Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) who went on CBS This Morning and linked GOP-backed budget cuts to the Ebola outbreak in West Africa.

“Ebola is not new. We’ve known about it for a long time,” Warren said. “We were putting money into funding Ebola many years ago and the republicans have cut funding overall for medical research, for the National Institute of Health, and Ebola has not been a priority. So now we’re in a position where instead of making those investments up front, we wait until people die.”

This line about Republicans cutting the NIH budget, being parroted by Warren and other Democrats, is undeniably false.

And it’s been given four Pinocchios by Wapo fact checkers:

Since 2006, there has been relatively little change in the size of the budget, going from about $28.5 billion in 2006 to $30.14 billion in 2014. That’s a slight increase, but in real terms that’s a cut given the impact of inflation. (The agency also received a $10 billion windfall in 2009 from the stimulus law.)

It’s sad to see a sitting US Senator stoop to such low standards. But there are other Democrats doing even greater damage.

Elsewhere, North Carolina congressional candidate Alma Adams called Democratic Sen. Kay Hagan’s opponent Thom Tillis an “Uncle Tom.”

“We need to send Uncle Tom–Tillis, that is–home,” Adams said at a recent campaign rally.

Worse still is a pro-Harry Reid Super PAC run by former Reid aides. That PAC is running a radio ad in North Carolina that blames GOP Senate candidate Thom Tillis for “the shooting death of Trayvon Martin,” the Florida teenager who was shot and killed in 2012.

“Financed by Senate Majority PAC—one of the outside groups that have spent more than $30 million attacking Republicans in North Carolina—the ad is targeted at African-American voters,” writes WFB’s Andrew Stiles.

“Tillis won’t fight for us … he made it harder for communities of color to vote,” the ad says. “Tillis even led the effort to pass the type of stand your ground laws that caused the shooting death of Trayvon Martin.”

Add the fact that Democrat gubernatorial candidate Vincent Sheheen recently called Republican Governor Nikki Haley a “whore,” it begs the question of why any self-respecting Democrat still supports this crap.
